Week 2 weightloss

Week 2 completed. I have lost 4.2lbs and John lost 6.6lbs
I am a little discouraged since I had anticipated having the average weightloss of 15lbs in the first two weeks as Atkins advertises. Not that 12.4 lbs is bad..I know it isn't.
Also the food choices are becoming routine and a bit boring. Bread and pasta are staples to many different types of meals. You can only do so much with chicken and beef.

Atkins Advantage Milk Chocolate Delight Shake

I love the Atkins milk chocolate shakes not just because of the taste or the 2g of net carbs but because we discovered another use for them.
If you like creamer in your coffee especially flavored creamer I suggest you give this a try. In place of 1g per tbsp that still doesn't taste quite right try using the Atkins shake. We both love it!

Review : Atkins Chocolate Coconut Bar

John and I both like it. In a 1 to 5 star rating, I would give it 4 stars. The coconut is good without being too sweet. Kind of like a mounds.

Daily Vitamin

John and I are taking a daily vitamin to further promote a healthy nutritional balance. We decided on Centrum Specialist multivitamin for supporting energy. It is caffeine-free. It also contains ginseng and b vitamins. I will report on whether or not I notice any change.

My thoughts on Atkins

What I know about Atkins is induction phase which is 2 weeks or longer if you are like me and have a lot to lose. You have an allotment of 20 grams of carbs but they are net carbs which is basically total carbs minus fiber carbs equals net carbs. I planned on utilizing the shakes and bars Atkins have developed since with my acid reflux I always use some form of sweet or dairy to calm it down. With having that outlet for sweet and dairy substitution I think that will make the diet 100 percent better for me. For the last few weeks I have been gearing up trying to get my body used to more meat in my diet since I was just about a vegetarian. I make this cheeseburger omelet thing that both John and I like and we will probably have a modified form of this for the diet. It basically is putting ground up hamburger in a pan and straining the grease and add a few eggs and a jar of gravy and add a couple slices of cheese. With a little ketchup and mustard it tastes pretty good and is quick and easy. However the gravy I assume is not on the diet so it would need some modifications. So bare minimum my diet would include a shake in the morning probably a late meal bar around lunch and maybe a treat bar at dinner and then I'll have something in between probably consisting of a meat and vegetable for dinner and something for lunch maybe a turkey and cheese or tuna salad. I like the idea of sugar free jello which is zero carbs which will make a good dessert. I got a dry erase board on the fridge that we're using to chart when we've had our shake ,meal bar,and treat bar for the day plus to add any extra carbs that we may have consumed during the day. I'm hoping for 100 pounds in 6 months then I would prefer to exercise the rest of it off if this is possible. John won't be able to do this as long as me being he has a lot less to lose. There is a maintenance program if we want to do that. I'm not sure yet.
